Hello, I'm Brett "The Bong Bong Doc" (read why), one of the owners and Brainwave Technologists here at An Open Mind. That's me above on the left. ![]() If the opening questions and the picture above fit with what you are experiencing, then you're not alone. In fact, depression is more common than ever before suspected. Many sufferers of depression don't even realize that they are dealing with it. According to the CDC, 235,000 (or 9%) of the U.S. population meet the qualifications for depression. As a Social Worker providing clinical services in one form or another for the past 20 years, I think that is low. Below I will tell you about the powerful tool we offer at An Open Mind and how I was able to overcome my own depression and get rid of the monthly expense and daily side effects from the medication. I will also give you a great opportunity to claim over $350 in services to insure your success. The ineffective and DANGEROUS conventional wisdom for overcoming Depression in 3 easy steps:

THERE IS HOPE.
You do not have to be stuck in a state of despair.
Through a passive, non-drug, intervention you can find joy in life. I did.
After dealing with the overwhelming cloud of despair that depression had over me for at least 10 years, I finally went and saw a friend about a medication to help. I had researched them all. I knew what my clients had been on and what side effects there were for each. I knew which ones I did not want. At first I felt great. I gained focus, and I was willing to deal with the dizziness, the increased tinnitus, and the jitters if it meant I could feel anything. When Gina and I went to get trained in Brainwave Optimization, I was amazed to realize one morning that I had been without my pills for 4 days. I had not even noticed. At that point I had done about 10 sessions of brainwave balancing and I had not even realized that I was feeling better. In a panic, I decided to take half a pill. I felt terrible. My head was spinning, I could hardly focus, and that was the last time I ever took the pills. When I got home and P.A. friend about the findings in the brain mapping and the reaction to the pill after realizing I had been without, he advised me to stay off of them. That was two and a half years ago. I still get depressed, but I also feel great joy. I do not have to stay depressed. I have written a book, numerous blog posts and articles, begun teaching Continuing Education classes for Social Workers and continue to do the occasional maintenance session of Brainwave Optimization.
Here are a couple of our clients and what they have experienced.
Rick commented after just 6 of his 10 brain balancing sessions, "I feel. I can really feel. I have never felt anything. Now I can feel emotion. My wife says to me ' who will you come home as this time'."
When Ian came back to do a second series of Neuro-Balancing to enhance the growth he experienced in the first, he told me, "I am writing again. I had stopped and I love to write." When I asked if he was still off of his medications, he said "I have not taken my depression pills since mid way through the first sessions."
I will point out that we do not advocate or dictate to our clients that they will in fact be able to just come off their medications. These clients have worked with their health care provider to alter their medication needs. Results are common, but very individual.

Brainwave Optimization works to balance the brainwaves contributing to the depression. Through a process similar to sympathetic resonance (see this video about harmonic resonance)
Using sound frequencies, brainwave optimization encourages the brain to shift its patterns to a more balanced and harmonized state similar to how the second tuning fork is influenced by the first. The process is completely relaxing and non-invasive.
- Sleep and well being are enhanced allowing better emotional regulation.
- Specific patterns of brain functioning associated with depression can be altered.
- Internal stress/traumas can be released allowing freedom of thought/expression.

DID YOU KNOW???
Lack of sleep has been directly linked to depression?
When the body gets less than 7 hours of deep sleep a night, the ability of the brain to produce the needed serotonin levels to sustain our mood the next day is decreased. SSRI (selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors) are one of the primary drugs prescribed for depression. These drugs act to keep the brain from being able to reabsorb what little serotonin there is in the system. Getting at least 7 hours of sleep can do much to increase the levels of serotonin the system has in the first place.

The exciting thing about depression, sleep and brainwave optimization is that Wake Forest University Medical school has recently conducted clinical studies proving that brainwave optimization is effective in the elimination of insomnia and other sleep issues and thereby reducing depression, anxiety, and other sleep deprivation induced issues.
